How we calculate
Every number on ReachMath can be traced back to a formula or a published source. Here’s how it works.
Two kinds of tools
Formula tools do exact maths on numbers you enter or rules a platform publishes: engagement rates, character counts, image sizes. If the inputs are right, the result is right.
Estimate tools predict earnings. No one outside YouTube, TikTok or Instagram knows a channel’s real ad rates, so these tools show a low-to-high range built from published figures, never a single “exact” number.
Where the numbers come from
- Platform rules first. Revenue shares (55% for long-form YouTube videos, 45% for Shorts), thumbnail specs and character limits come from each platform’s own help pages.
- Published ranges second. Typical RPM ranges come from creator-reported figures and industry guides, cross-checked against each other.
- Clear adjustments. Where an estimate changes with niche or audience location, the tool page lists every multiplier it uses.
Currencies
Earnings are calculated in US dollars, then converted using approximate exchange rates (last updated November 2026). Your currency choice is remembered on your device only.
Reviews and updates
Every tool shows a “last reviewed” date. We review estimate tools at least every three months and update them when a platform changes its rules. Spotted something out of date? Tell us.
